This is my battle of Hastings newspaper that we did on publisher.

Evaluation of Power Point

This year in power point I have learnt

· That you should use power point when you want to make a presentation or a slide show.
· That you should not use a colour on the same background e.g. pink writing on a pink background
· Not to make the backgrounds too busy.




How could I use these skills in another subject?


· If I am making a presentation, it will be much easier to read because I now know how to use it .




What I did well ?


· I learnt quickly how to use it so it was easy.
· To apply pictures to my presentation
· I got the right information

What I have learnt this year in Microsoft Excel


This year in Excel I have learnt how to properly use spreadsheets and how to add data to it. I have also learnt how to put graphs on my work, how to add pictures onto the graph and how to put numbers around it.


I could use these skills in maths because I could make a times table list with the spreadsheet and I could use the graphs for data.


I think I did well in the graph work because I found it easy to do and I like searching for pictures of my chosen animals.



My targets for next term again are to listen carefully to instructions because I kept on having to ask the person next to me what we were doing.

Evaluation of Publisher

· In history when I want to make a newspaper report on an event that took place a long time ago

What I did well

· I could get the pictures onto my work
· I could make the name cards and flyers well
· I found it easy

What I have learnt in this year in word

This term I have learnt how to use the Header and Footer bar and how to put a page number at the bottom of the page. I have learnt how to change the justifications on word. Toolbars are another thing. I have learnt how to add them and take them away from the usual ones. I have also learnt that” The undo button is your friend!”


I might be able to use these skills in English if I have to do an essay or story. I would be able to put the page number on the bottom of the page to indicate which page it would be. My name would go on the top of the pages so my story would be easy to find. Therefore, these things would be very useful.


I think I did well in using the toolbars because I have used them before so I found it easy.

My targets for next term are to listen to instructions more carefully because in a few lessons I have not known what I was doing because I hadn’t listened.

Evaluation of slide show

Today in ICT we went around to other peoples computers to watch their slide shows. We had an evaluation sheet that when we had watched the slide show, we had to answer the questions on the sheet. The fist time we had to do the evaluation, we had to have a longer time to do it because some of us had never done an evaluation on slide shows and found it hard. When we did the next ones though, we found we could do it fine because we knew what the questions were so we could watch and answer the questions.

When I got my feedback back, I was very impressed by how well the questions were answered. I now know what i can change in my slide show and to make it better.

My comments

My comments on my PowerPoint presentation were good and helpful. They were good because they were nice and helpful because they told me that my F.R.I.E.N.D.S background was to busy which was true. It was too busy because it had pictures of the whole cast on it. I liked my presentation.
